Quick Reference Guide for new K2 Pro users

Thanks for choosing K2 Pro. When you receive your new camera please note the followings and set to the suggested shooting parameters for VR180. Feel free to contact our support if you have any questions, thanks.

  • Do not dismount the lenses. The fisheye lenses have been fully calibrated and fit with a template for MsitikaVR. Warranty will be voided if the lenses were dismounted from camera body, and focus may change a little even if the lens was take out and reinstall within seconds.
  • Focus have been carefully calibrated on both lenses. In case the sharpness was changed you may fine tune the focus by releasing the three tiny set screws on the focal ring by using the tiny hex key provided. Please keep the hex key in a safe place in case you need it in the further, or you may look for the spec of M0.9 if you want to buy another one.
  • With both camera turning off, make sure the micro switch have set to the correct position, with M for the master and S for the slave. Double check if the sync cable have been connected in the correct fashion, i.e. Primary for the master, and Secondary to the slave.
  • You may follow the upgrade guide if you want to use some updated firmware of E2. Please be reminded some firmware like v0.95 is non-reversible.
  • Format your recording media (Cfast / SSD) before use.
  • There is no display and control buttons for the slave camera. The easiest way to control it is connecting to a iOS device via a lightning-to-USBc cable. Please refer to the user guide for further details.
  • For easier file management, you may want to set the metadata of the Right camera with a label as “R”, and Left camera with “L”.
  • Sync the camera time on both sides with an iOS device or a PC, you can have the file date and time in a more coherent sense, and may use Time Code as you wish.
  • Set the same codec, resolution, frame rate and color space on both camera (i.e. all the parameters showing on the bottom of the controller app or HDMI OSD). The sync will not work properly with a fast blinking red led light if these parameters were not identical. Suggested parameters as follows: Resolution =3696×2772, frame rate=29.97/59.94, codec=H265/ProRes, LUT=Rec709/z-log2.
  • Enable the co-ordinated exposure and white balance on the master camera, it will take over the shutter, ISO and WB on the slave camera (i.e. the parameters showing on the top of the screen on the controller app or HDMI OSD). Make sure the aperture have been set to the same value on both sides. In case with the co-ordinated exposure result in difference in brightness you may have to adjust the aperture ring to keep them balance. You may check the brightness with two calibrated monitors, or check with the WonderLive for K2pro.
